Therapy

Our Approach to Therapy

At The Joyful Psych, therapy is warm, child-centred and evidence-based. We create a safe and welcoming space where children feel understood, respected and supported to be themselves.

Every child is different, so therapy is tailored to suit their age, personality, strengths, needs and goals.

Therapy sessions may include:

  • Talking and reflection

  • Play-based activities

  • Drawing and creative tasks

  • Movement and hands-on activities

  • Visual supports

  • Problem-solving

  • Practical skill-building

Our work uses evidence-based approaches such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Exposure-based approaches

  • Parent-guided support

Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process. We work collaboratively with families to understand what is happening at home, school and in everyday life.

Together, we develop practical strategies that can support your child beyond the therapy room.
